I’m a poet, diviner, and mixed-media artist in Washington, D.C.
Learn about how you can visit my studio or work with me in a divination session.
I was born in Norfolk and raised in Denver, La Serena, San Jose, Tabubil, Mexico City, Guangzhou and Maine. I’m a graduate of the University of California, San Diego, where I earned an M.F.A. in interdisciplinary writing, and George Washington University, where I studied Chinese and East Asian studies.
I worked in public policy for five years after graduation, then moved to California for a decade, where I finally said yes to my capacious creative and professional interests. I’ve been back in D.C. since 2014 and have deep ties to the area.
I’ve been reading cards since I was a teenager and study with Selah Saterstrom of Four Queens Divination. I use a Rider-Waite-Smith deck and read the cards in inclusive, non-binary ways. I believe divination is a collaborative tool for empowering individuals and institutions.
My creative practice is iterative, and includes literary art, mixed-media works on paper, and small sculptures and weavings made with locally-foraged plant fibers. Grounded in language, my work that offers time and space for ambiguity, bewilderment, discomfort, honesty, wonder and reckoning.
